Qinghuangdao

So a day of mixed success unfortunately. Of the 3 definite coasters we only got 1 and the big park that was on the itinerary when announced had closed. But China is a volatile place with parks opening and closing on a regular basis so we weren't overly upset, and in fact some of us were already working out how we could squeeze another visit into our next visit to China.

We left Tianjin to catch a second bullet train, this time to Quihuangdo, in preparation for the next day on arrival we were met by a large crowd outside the main station (we found out why the next day).

This is our hotel in the city. A rather grand hotel that is the best one in the city supposedly.

Funky matrix style light show outside our hotel.

After a quick stop at the hotel myself and Jeppe headed back up to the station having seen the locals eating outside. We pigged out on random barbecued meat on sticks which were really nice, so much so in fact that we ordered 3 more rounds

A little down the hill a local entrepreneur had set up a hoopla game using a skip sized container full of random animals. It was pretty popular as he was fairly lax with the rules and a partial hoop over would count.
