Tianjin Tower

156

With still some time to kill we headed off to Tianjin Communication Tower for lunch. It's taller than the towers in Beijing but the food in the restaurant was really really bad.

Easily the worst food of the trip and I'd been to a food market the night before. Here's one example of how bad the food was. Dessert came first with our drinks and the stuff under the ice cream is mostly ice!

From the tower we had an amazing view over the city, the skies were much clearer here than in Beijing, but the downside was that it was way hotter. Clearly in Beijing the smog acts as a filter to the excess sun. Not here though.

To the East of the tower we could see a major development being built, part of this used to be Tianjin Amusement Park which closed a few months ago. It's supposed to be coming back next year with a rumoured world's longest coaster but we'll see what happens in the next year. They have a lot of work to do if they are.

Looking down at the Tianjin Water Park, the park we'd just left.

A great sign that works in any language.
